[文摘]:A method for measuring normal and tangential stresses on the surface of a body in a rarefied flow is described, and new experimental data from the method are discussed. The application of the method to measure the stresses about an infinitely thin floating element and an endless flat plate in a nonuniform flow are briefly addressed. Results of experimental investigations of normal and tangential stresses on an endless plate in an underexpanded rarefied jet are reported, as are those for the flow over an endless sharp flat plate within a wide range of angles of attack and the flow over a sphere in a supersonic flow. [文摘]:There is an ever increasing need for high density, reliable, nonvolatile memory in military avionics applications. Flash memory modules not only offer greater amounts of memory per square inch but can decrease overall system size and complexity due to built in algorithms for handling read, write, and erase functions. In addition to savings in size and complexity, this technology also offers increased speed and reduced power consumption. This paper compares the advantages of flash memory modules with the currently accepted technologies of EPROM and EEPROM in hermetic surface mount packages. It examines improvements in size, cost per bit, power consumption, thermal requirements, reliability, speed, and ease of application. In addition, it examines the effect of enabling technologies, such as known good die and custom hermetic packaging. (Author)
